OPEN JOB: Low Voltage Project Manager

LOCATION: Paramus, NJ

TARGET COMPENSATION: $90,000 to $110,000

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, Planning and Implementation

About the Role:

The Low Voltage Project Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of diverse structured cabling systems, encompassing both general enterprise and building infrastructure projects, as well as specialized mission-critical data center environments.
This role oversees the planning, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of copper and fiber optic cabling infrastructure, including associated overhead conveyance systems, pathways, and support structures, to support various networking and power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed project scopes, work breakdown structures, schedules, and resource allocation plans for both general structured cabling and data center infrastructure projects.
Coordinate timelines with internal teams, external contractors, client representatives, and relevant operations teams.
Ensure site assessments, infrastructure audits, and pre-construction planning meetings are completed.

Confirm labor, materials, and equipment are allocated for each project.
Monitor project progress and track financial performance, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Ensure adherence to structured cabling standards across all project types

Manage field Installation teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work is performed according to industry codes (TIA/EIA, BICSI), safety regulations, and specific data center protocols where applicable.
Conduct site meetings, status updates, and performance reviews with vendors and contractors.

Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients, project sponsors, IT, and facilities management for all project types.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of project management experience in structured cabling and/or low voltage systems, encompassing both general infrastructure and specialized data center projects.
Proven ability to manage large-scale, fast-track projects in live or greenfield data center environments.

Certifications (Preferred):

PMP or other recognized project management certification.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in reading network infrastructure drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
Familiarity with cable management systems, testing tools, and labeling standards.
Strong understanding of structured cabling standards: ANSI/TIA-568, TIA-606, BICSI.
In-depth knowledge of structured cabling standards, best practices, and design considerations specific to mission-critical data centers.
Strong familiarity with cable plant management, fiber distribution systems, and horizontal/vertical pathways, including overhead conveyance.
Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project, Procore, or similar, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with commissioning processes (IST, FAT, and SAT) (preferred).

Working Conditions:

Primarily office based but will require travel to various project locations primarily in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.
General hours of Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm, however, may occasionally be needed for nights and weekends to meet project timelines.
