Location: Catoosa, Oklahoma
Schedule: Full-Time | 40-50 hours per week | Day Shift (10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday)
Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Summary:
We're looking for a skilled Skid Structural Welder to join our team at Natural Gas Services Group. This position plays a key role in the fabrication and assembly of natural gas compressor skids, utilizing structural steel and various welding processes in a high-paced shop environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vertical groove welds using 3G MIG and/or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Cut, fit, and weld structural steel components for compressor skid fabrication.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to meet structural and code requirements.
- Utilize appropriate welding methods and tools to complete high-quality fabrications.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of experience welding structural steel and plate.
- Typically, 3 years of related experience and/or training in a fabrication or industrial setting.
- Proficient in 3G MIG and FCAW welding processes. Pass required 3G MIG/FCAW welding tests as part of the certification process.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Experience with vertical groove welds and welding in multiple positions preferred.
- Understanding of structural steel fabrication techniques and standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Must comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and full body movement (e.g., climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching).
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are required to safely operate welding equipment and hand tools.
- Visual acuity is necessary to read blueprints, measure components, and inspect welds for quality and accuracy.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and fabrication shop conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including welding hood, gloves, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
