Lift Maintenance Department Supervisor DEPARTMENT & LOCATION/VENUE: Lift Maint / Gore CSEA Schedule Grade _19__ (to be assigned by HR) Overtime eligible Date:6/27/2024 updated 7.23.2024 General The Lift Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance of all lifts and reports directly to the Operations Manager. This individual must have the ability to lift 50 lbs, the ability to climb towers at significant heights, work efficiently at significant heights, possess a valid driver's license, have Lift Maintenance and supervisory experience, be able to work outside in inclement weather, have a full understanding of ANSI B77 and possess NDT Level 2 Certification. Miscellaneous support duties may be requested by the Operations Manager that support the overall responsibilities of the Venue and or Organization. This position works primarily on-site at Gore Mountain although occasional travel may be required. Weekend and holiday work are required as is work outside the normal workday including overnights and call-ins necessary to fulfill duties and responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities: Principle Duties Supervise lead Lift Mechanics with preventative maintenance and special projects Prepare chairlifts daily for operational use. Complete required departmental maintenance log sheets and record keeping. Maintains tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean and good working condition. Shovel lifts & Walkways as well as deice towers when needed. Operate various over-the-snow and wheeled vehicles safely. Attend all on and off-site lift maintenance training as assigned by the Operations Manager. Check fluid levels, belts, tires, and terminals. Be able to operate all Ski Lifts. Rebuild sheaves and replace them as needed. Complete required documentation for maintenance and inspections. Perform fixed grip maintenance. Perform fixed grip carrier inspections. Installation of sheave wheels. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Possess extensive knowledge of terminals, stations, and tension systems Check and adjust the alignment in motor gearboxes Troubleshoot, repair, and oversee the replacement of all brake systems and components Have a complete understanding of the components of a splice including type of splice Requirements tucks & tolerances inspection of the splice End connections Tensioning forces Plan/ execute a rig for splice Rigging with hydraulics Track cable relocation Quality Assurance Documentation Measure, adjust, and align the detachable mechanism. Perform lift line inspections. Possess extensive knowledge of all evacuation and auxiliary drive systems. Adjust tower rope alignment for all lifts. Adjust guide sheave heights properly. Perform NDT testing on detachable grips and carriers. Lead and manage a team of Lift Mechanics including scheduling, training, and hiring Be actively involved in Lift electrical emergency procedures and time-dependent repairs Monitor supplies and order supplies based upon the New York State Purchases standards Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure reliable lift operations Collaborate with manufacturers and external service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs Ensure that all lift maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections and repairs for regulatory compliance Stay current with industry advancements and new technologies to enhance lift maintenance practices Always work safely following all training and ORDA safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular inspections and audits of lift systems to identify and address potential issues proactively Create JHA's for all jobs Complete employee incident reports and RCA on a timely basis. Prepare yearly budget as well as plan off-season capital improvement jobs. Perform daily safety meetings with staff. Full understanding of safety protocols including use of work carrier and lock out - tag out. Report potential mechanical lift issues to the Operations Manager. Must always maintain a positive and professional rapport with lift operations staff. Skills and Qualifications NDT Level 2 Certification Strong knowledge and understanding of Lift Mechanical/Lift Electrical systems Ability to lift at least 50lbs Ability to work at heights Work outside in extreme weather conditions Valid Driver's License Mechanical abilities 2 Years prior Supervisor experience preferred
