Essential Functions:
Maintains, installs and repairs electrical systems, equipment and fixtures, and ensures that electrical codes are met
Examples of Work:
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Installs new electrical service to comply with state and national codes
Removes and installs wiring to pumps and motors
Troubleshoots all electrical problems
Repairs light fixtures and ballasts
Installs temporary wiring for events
Repairs overhead and underground electrical equipment
Aids in electrical design for new facilities
Reads and interprets blue prints and plans to install electrical equipment
Maintain records of electrical repairs
Strings electrical wire
Performs related work
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Travels to various locations
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 70 pounds
Lifts and carries items weighing over 70 pounds in a team setting
Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
High school diploma or the equivalent
Electrician
Two years of electrical work experience at the journeyman level
Other Minimums:
Must work a varied schedule
Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
