Maintenance Supervisor

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily work of skilled maintenance personnel while ensuring full compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as company and legal requirements. This position is key to driving safe, efficient operations and supporting a culture rooted in the company's Principles of Conduct and Action. Ideal for a hands-on leader who values operational excellence and team accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision: Directly supervise hourly skilled maintenance employees in the improvement and maintenance of plant equipment, building maintenance, machinery, and utilities. Lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and health policies.

Maintenance Management: Organize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance routines to ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant systems.

Performance Management: Communicate and document employee expectations, assess performance, and provide coaching and development opportunities. Administer disciplinary actions as necessary and assist in the hiring process for hourly employees.

Preventive Maintenance Development: Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent/Manager to develop preventive maintenance strategies that enhance reliability and maintain records of plant and equipment performance.

Training Oversight: Oversee the training of maintenance employees to ensure they receive adequate training before working on manufacturing equipment, following standard operating and maintenance procedures.

Root-Cause Analysis: Assist in performing root-cause analysis and implementing sustainable countermeasures for equipment/machinery failures.

Workplace Organization: Maintain workplace organization and good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees accountable for their assigned work areas.

Timekeeping Management: Review and approve employee time in the UKG timekeeping system, ensuring accurate payment in accordance with site pay policies or collective bargaining agreements.

Incident Investigation: Investigate EH&S incidents, conduct audits, and ensure adherence to waste management and recycling responsibilities.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

High level of knowledge and understanding of Preventive Maintenance (PM) tracking systems.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field is highly preferred.

General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001).

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, and Six Sigma is a plus.

Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with UKG and SAP systems is preferred, with a high-level knowledge of preventive maintenance solutions and tracking.
