We are currently seeking a talented Facilities Supervisor to join our team at the Harbor Community Health Center in Hyannis.

Role:
The Facilities Supervisor assists with covering the Director of Facilities and the Director of Procurement duties to ensure that buildings, grounds and all relevant maintenance systems (water, heat, a/c, plumbing, etc.) are maintained in good working condition, are accessible to patients and staff during hours of operation; and, are maintained at acceptable levels of safety. Duties include but are not limited to and, as directed, liaison with vendors for outside/inside building maintenance to include snow removal, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, painting, roof repair, HVAC, floor covering, movers, etc. while on site.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates daily maintenance activities; ensuring that the facility is fully operational during all scheduled business hours.
- Liaises with vendors for internal/external building maintenance - snow removal, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, painting, roof repair, HVAC, floor covering, movers, etc. while on site.
- Identifies potential vendors for specified jobs and obtains quotations and makes recommendations to the Director of Facilities.
- Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, implements specific corrective actions to ameliorate safety issues, and to ensure compliance with OSHA, JCAHO, Fire Department and other regulatory health and safety requirements.
- Develops and maintains vendor relationships to ensure prompt and effective service delivery.
- Assists the Director of Facilities to ensure that all permits and inspection certificates are current.
- Continuously engages with staff to communicate, prior to commencing work, the specific nature and details of the work/project; and implement a plan to mitigate impact on facility operations.
- Maintains ground maintenance including but not limited to: ensuring walkways, driveways, and handicap access ramps are clear; adequate lighting in facilities is/are operational, lawn is manicured, etc.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
- Performs minor painting, plumbing, cleaning, and miscellaneous repairs to floor, walls etc.
- Responsible for snow removal and collaborating with a contractor for the clearing of all walkways, steps, driveways, parking lots and front sidewalks during and after any significant accumulation of snow and ice during and after snowstorm as directed by immediate supervisor and/or management staff.
- Manages storeroom and storeroom inventory along with distribution of supplies as appropriate.
- Monitors and ensures that contracted housekeeping company is in compliance with health center requirements (CORI, SAM, MASS Exclusion, immunizations, etc.) and that the quality of work performed meets standards and is completed according to schedule and reports any cleaning discrepancies to the Director of Facilities.
- Coordinates with Harbor's vendor shredding company and monitors on-site scheduled shredding bin collection of confidential documentation.
- On 24 hour call and responds promptly to all building emergencies, immediately answering pages and returning calls in the event of an emergency.
- During emergency operations may be required to report to work or remain at work.
Requirements:
- Degree or certificate from an accredited vocational/technical school beyond the secondary level
- 5 years of facilities management experience
- Proven general trade knowledge of building engineering, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping and electrical systems
- Proven knowledge of local, state and federal licensing regulations and permit requirements
- Proven experience in vendor management and procurement bidding process(es)
- Excellent customer service skills, intermediate Math Skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to work with a variety of building related applications such as the HVAC and maintenance requests etc.
- Basic to intermediate level of Microsoft Office 365 including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- May substitute additional 2 years of experience in facilities management for Technical/Vocational degree
