You will join a multidisciplinary engineering team working on a next-generation reactor project with complex interfacing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead design of engineered fluid systems from requirements development through final design and commissioning.

  • Conduct technical trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and optimize system performance.

  • Oversee suppliers during the fabrication and testing of gas processing, filtration, and monitoring equipment.

  • Review and analyze component designs to ensure system-level compatibility and performance.

  • Develop engineering documentation including system design descriptions, technical specifications, and operational narratives.

  • Identify and resolve integration issues across system and plant levels during the design phase.

  • Participate in and support technical design reviews.

  • Generate and coordinate complete design packages, including calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.

  • Collaborate with the design team to manage drawing packages (e.g., P&IDs, 3D models, system interface diagrams).

  • Interface with cross-functional disciplines (mechanical, I&C, civil, nuclear) to define design and performance requirements.

  • Initiate and support development testing programs for system qualification.

  • Apply relevant industry codes and standards, such as ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC Sections III and VIII.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of direct experience in system design and mechanical systems engineering.

  • Experience with fluid and piping systems; able to read and create Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards and design codes (e.g., ASME, BPVC, API).

  • Familiarity with the safety classification of systems, structures, and components.

  • Experience with supplier oversight in safety-related equipment development.

  • Understanding of piping design and stress analysis.

  • Experience working within quality assurance frameworks such as ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, AS 9100, or similar.

  • Proven ability to lead technical tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and design constraints.
