GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an Early Career Environmental Engineer/Scientist in our South Portland, Maine office. The successful candidate must have a solid educational background and be self-motivated with a professional attitude. They will join our team of engineers/scientists that work on a variety of projects including site investigation, evaluation of remedial alternatives, design, and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of project managers and/or principals and be integrated into our office's project mix. Between field work projects, you will work in a professional office setting, preparing field documentation, managing and analyzing data, and creating reports. Key Duties: Perform outdoor, all-season field tasks such as drilling oversight, soil / groundwater sampling, soil vapor sampling, stormwater sampling, construction oversight, monitoring, etc. Work on all phases of a variety of projects (due diligence, site investigation, data management and evaluation, scientific and engineering analysis, and environmental compliance). Monitoring and documenting various aspects of investigation/remediation projects. Conducting technical analyses/calculations. Analyzing and interpreting various site-specific data. Writing drafts of summary reports. GZA emphasizes a One Company environment, and as a member of our team, you may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Geological Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field required. 1-3+ years of relevant work experience in the fields of site investigation, remediation, and/or environmental compliance is preferred but not required. Strong problem-solving ability, communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to perform field tasks and activities in Maine's environment. Ability to travel locally and regionally. Candidates must have a valid driver's license in good standing and a reliable vehicle. Strong Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS skills is a plus. Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations is a plus. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus. Why Join GZA?
