Welder and Fabricator

SUMMARY

Full Time: 5:30am -4:00pm M-Thurs; Fridays OT (depending on production needs)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform efficient and quality MIG welding of various metal thicknesses on carbon steel
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, assembly, and welding operations
  • Set up and adjust MIG welding and cutting equipment
  • Report all non-conforming material to the area Supervisor and/or Shop Foreman immediately
  • Perform work with the help of various hand and power tools (drills, grinders, sanders, etc.)
  • Maintain weld equipment and supplies in an excellent and safe operating condition
  • Complete paperwork/job sheets required for area
  • Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories
  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions as well as the ability to work independently
  • Certified forklift operator is a PLUS
  • Ability to use tape measure, layout out, and set assemblies
  • Ability to meet production standards
  • Maintain good attendance record and be able to work overtime as required
  • Maintain good safety record
  • Maintain positive attitude

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced MIG welder
  • Requires limited supervision to perform tasks assigned
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to use tape measure, layout out, and set assemblies

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or relative experience and/or training for job classification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Depending on job classification, may require basic math and/or tape measure reading,

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
