Position Summary:

This position is for the equipment mechanic of Arkansas Tech University. This position is tasked with maintenance of all Arkansas Tech fleet vehicles including Kubota's, mowers and golf carts. This position is also tasked with the loading and unloading of delivery trucks to the Tech warehouse. This is a 5 day a week work schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance of all fleet vehicles including Kubota's, golfcarts, mowers, tractors, and small engines such as weed eaters and leaf blowers.

This position is tasked with keeping a clean and safe work environment in the mechanic shop.

Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge in identifying mechanical issues and conducting repairs in a timely manner.

Skills in repairing vehicles, tractors, Kubota side by sides, lawn mowers, weed eaters, and other small engines.

This Individual needs to have great time management with the ability to keep a safe and clean work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.

At least 3 years of on-the-job experience needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of experience as a mechanic with knowledge of multiple types of vehicles and other work equipment.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

This position is located at the Arkansas Tech FAMA building at the main campus in Russellville.

Work environment is in a mechanic shop with some in the field work as needed.

Physical demands include lifting objects up to 50 pounds, working on a concrete floor for up to 8 hours, working in a noise environment and the ability to bend up and down to complete work as needed.
