Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team in overseeing various projects. This role involves acting as a liaison between the field and office, collaborating with different departments, and participating in preconstruction review and design-build activities. The Assistant Project Manager will be instrumental in managing customer, subcontractor, and vendor relations while upholding our values of courtesy, integrity, and fairness.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project manager in administering the project, monitoring reports, and maintaining logs and information.
  • Ensure document control, including the administration and tracking of procurement logs, submittals, purchase orders, correspondence, deliverables, etc.
  • Administer and track receivables, billings, and commitments.
  • Manage contract drawings revisions, specifications, RFIs, and change order logs to maintain clarity of scope between office, field, and client.
  • Create comparisons of actual hourly and cost performance versus budgeted values.
  • Update and review project schedules, tracking job progress and productivity against the schedule.
  • Monitor QA/QC for compliance with specifications and implement project document control.
  • Process and track project communications, maintain project files, and prepare meeting minutes and daily reports.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver project close-out documentation packages.
  • Analyze project technical and administrative information and communicate any potential changes to the contract or scope of work.
  • Price changes to the contract and prepare submissions for clients.
  • Anticipate, identify, prevent, and solve problems, supporting the mitigation of issues and monitoring results.
  • Update the project manager on interpretations for pricing, budgeting, purchasing, scheduling, and scope variations from project inception to completion.
Essential Skills
  • 3-5 years of electrical construction experience.
  • Experience with RFIs, Change Orders, and Submittals.
  • Proficiency in project document control and billing management.
  • Knowledge of construction management, particularly in electrical and utility construction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Substation construction management experience preferred.
  • Utility background preferred.
Work Environment

The position is based starting in Medway, MA with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, then potential work in Cambridge, MA following this project. You will have your own desk, laptop, and cell phone provided, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. The role also involves occasional site visits to substation projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.00/hr.
