We are seeking a skilled engineering professional to provide leadership and technical expertise within our Distribution Engineering & Planning team. In this role, you will guide daily work and serve as a key resource in the planning, modeling, and engineering of our electric distribution system. You'll coordinate and oversee activities that ensure system reliability, capacity, and voltage needs are met, both now and into the future.

Location:

Work for this position can be performed both on-site at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303, and from your local home office, as duties require. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements, hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota.

Compensation:

The expected hiring range is between $127,400 - $167,160 annually. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 10% based on company performance.

In this position, you will:

  • Lead the Distribution Engineering & Planning team to create project plans that ensure a safe and reliable distribution system for our members. Manage these projects to ensure they are completed as scheduled and meet National standards and construction specifications while maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Direct the distribution system engineering, planning, and special projects to ensure projects conform to all applicable codes and engineering standards. Provide direction for system planning to ensure future loads are anticipated and the system has adequate capacity to provide service to our members.
  • Serve as lead for the annual distribution system capital construction budget. Recommend annual capital construction budget in accordance with overall corporate strategic direction to ensure a reliable, cost-effective distribution system.
  • Lead the Distribution Engineering & Planning group by setting individual goals, providing professional growth opportunities and collaborating with other groups to support corporate goals.
  • Serve as the leader for construction specifications, materials, and standards. Collaborate with Supply Chain to develop material specifications and ensure compliance with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
  • Direct the activities of and serve as corporate business owner for the engineering analysis distribution system model using data from revenue meters, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to create load profiles.
  • Lead the Power System Operations Technical Support Team.

Need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Five years progressive experience in various aspects of electric distribution utility engineering
  • Specific experience in distribution system planning, system modeling, specifications and standards

  • Supervisory training
