Material Control Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a meticulous Material Control Operator to ensure accurate inventory management across multiple branch locations. This role involves monitoring, organizing, and maintaining the inventory of company products while collaborating with a diverse team.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts.
+ Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties.
+ Enter inventory data into a computer and record data manually using a clipboard.
+ Load and unload metal materials, both manually and with a forklift.
+ Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill.
+ Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements.
+ Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support movement of material.
+ Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements.
+ Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags.
+ Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket.
+ Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate them to appropriate staff.
+ Perform verification of scrap.
+ Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
+ Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits.
+ Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean up.
**Essential Skills**
+ Certification to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, side-loaders, and cherry-pickers.
+ High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
+ Ability to read, write, speak and understand fluent English and perform basic math problems.
+ Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory management system.
+ Ability to use tape measures and calipers for material inspection and measurement.
+ Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 3 years of material control or inventory experience.
+ Previous experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment.
+ Strong attendance and work history with regards to tenure.
+ Attributes include attention to detail, ability to work on your feet, read a tape measure, and good with paperwork and chain of custody.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.70 - $22.70/hr.
