As a Civil Engineer III, you'll be tackling a wide range of professional, technical, and complex tasks. This includes playing a vital role in the design, development, planning, maintenance, and construction of essential County infrastructure, as well as overseeing development reviews. This exciting opportunity comes with a starting wage of $36.64 an hour, along with excellent benefits that begin on your first day of employment! Your Key Responsibilities Will Include: As a Civil Engineer III, you'll be instrumental in: Development Proposal Review: Assisting in the review of development proposals. Project Oversight: Providing oversight for contracts and construction projects. Construction Review and Field Assessments: Conducting reviews and field assessments for construction crews. Right-of-Way Management: Managing County rights-of-way. General Construction Reviews and Inspections: Performing reviews and inspections for utilities, roadways, and drainage improvements. This involves reading and reviewing construction documents like design drawings and specifications for subdivisions, road and infrastructure projects, and other development activities for COG projects and development review. Plan Set Reviews and Verification: Providing plan set reviews, verifying budgets and expenses, and ensuring project conformance with applicable codes and policies. Right-of-Way Work: Reviewing permits, conducting violation enforcement, coordinating, and acquiring land for County construction projects. Public Interaction: Handling interactions with the public through phone calls, onsite discussions, written communication, and at the front counter. You'll be working under the general supervision of the County Engineer, contributing your expertise to projects that are crucial for our community. What We're Looking For: To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field. At least three (3) years of civil engineering experience. A State Professional Engineering License. Please note that all certifications must be with the state of Utah within one year of the date of hire.
