Opto-Mechanical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Opto-Mechanical Technician to join our team in the installation, alignment, and integration of optics, electro-optics, and mechanics. This role involves fiber optic assembly and installation, opto-mechanical assembly, receiving and inspecting components, bonding, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Install and align optics, electro-optics, and mechanical components.
  • Assemble fiber optic systems and conduct installations.
  • Perform opto-mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Receive and inspect components for quality assurance.
  • Conduct bonding processes with precision.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in fiber optics and electro-optical assembly.
  • Experience in laser assembly and fiber optic cabling.
  • Skilled in electrical soldering work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace or defense industries is preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment involves contributing to the development of next-generation National Defense High Energy Laser (HEL) technologies. These HEL Weapon systems are designed to be rugged and compact, capable of thriving in the most challenging environments. Technicians in this role are integral to the hands-on assembly of parts, ensuring the success of these advanced systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr.
