Responsibilities
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop detailed shop drawings for metal panel systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry codes.
- Produce comprehensive shop drawings including layout plans, elevations, sections, attachment details, and fabrication drawings for metal wall and roof panels.
- Coordinate panel layout with structural and architectural elements to ensure proper fit, alignment, and constructability.
- Generate panel schedules, material take-offs, and fabrication lists to support procurement and production.
- Apply knowledge of various metal panel systems and their installation methods.
- Conduct quality checks on peer drawings and bill of materials to identify and resolve discrepancies prior to fabrication and installation.
- Review and incorporate redline corrections from customers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to coordinate panel analysis and resolve technical issues.
- Assist in the development of standard product details, manuals, and installation prints.
- Support sales and customer service teams with technical drawing needs and project-specific questions.
- Create submittal packages for new projects and assist with revisions as needed.
- Manage multiple drafting projects simultaneously, maintaining high standards of accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD AND Revit
- Associates degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in CAD drafting with a focus on architectural metal panel systems.
- Skilled in client-facing roles, collaborating with other disciplines and vendors to address questions and provide solutions
- Experience in at least ONE of the following: Insulated Metal Panels, ACM, or Single-Skin systems.
- Strong understanding of construction documents, fabrication processes, and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with bill of materials (BOM) creation and material take-offs.
