At the Louisiana State Museum, founded in New Orleans in 1906, is a statewide system of National Historic Landmarks and modern structures across Louisiana, housing thousands of artifacts and works of art reflecting Louisiana's legacy of historic events and cultural diversity.

Were seeking a Carpenter Foreman to take charge of high-impact carpentry projects, guiding a dedicated crew of Carpenters, Masters, and Apprentices. From overseeing major structural repairs to crafting custom woodwork and interpreting complex blueprints, you'll be at the helm of every phase planning, estimating, executing, and inspiring.

This position will be filled as a promotion; you must be a current permanent employee of the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, serving in a Classified position, in order to qualify.

Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Four years of experience or training in the carpentry trade. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here . Job Duties:
The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for the supervision and oversight of scheduling, reviewing, installing, repairing, and maintaining all carpentry tasks as related to the Louisiana State museum system.

Position-Specific Details:

Work Schedule: This is a fulltime position; overtime and travel may be required.
