Party and Event Supervisor

Summary: The Party and Event Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an excellent birthday party or event experience for guests at Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, Storyland, and City Putt.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned

  • Communicates with park sales team to execute scheduled parties and events.
  • Ensures all party areas are cleaned and set up for each party and cleaned afterward in preparation for the next party.
  • Schedules and supervises the appropriate number of staff to work during the parties and events.
  • Oversees delivery of food and beverages.
  • Coordinates with Amusement Manager, Concessions Manager, and City Putt Manager event details
  • Greets and remains available to party or event host and their guests to attend to their needs.
  • Communicates with host during inclement weather and makes every effort to accommodate reasonable requests for moving and/or rescheduling the event.
  • Liaison between party or event host and City Park Conservancy for all events in the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, City Putt, and Storyland
  • Monitors inventory of all birthday party supplies and equipment.
  • Updates digital signage for events.
  • Assist in training staff on correct procedures for party set-up and tear-down.
  • Assist in planning and executing all City Park Conservancy events.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An active, unsuspended driver’s license is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods and constantly move about to accomplish tasks moving from one site to another. Occasionally, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles will be required. The employee will constantly communicate with others to exchange information through speaking and hearing, and will assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. There will be frequent use of hands to handle, or feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. There will be constant repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee will constantly be moving about from one worksite to another. There is continuous operation of machinery, heavy equipment, motor vehicles, and/or power tools. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee will constantly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, parts, or operation of machines; using measuring devices; or assembly of parts at close distances. Working weekends, some evenings, and holidays is mandatory. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

While performing the duties of this job, activities may occur both inside and outside. The employee is regularly subject to hazards such as: proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding or high places, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals such as cleaning liquids, and outside weather conditions. The employee is constantly exposed to extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, vibration, wet and/or humid conditions. There is exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or the whole body. The noise level in the work environment may be significant enough to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level. There will be occasional periods of elevated sound during special events.
