Job Description
Job Summary:
The Pre-Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing pre-construction planning activities, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and coordination with design and engineering teams. This individual will ensure that all necessary preparations are made before construction begins, focusing on feasibility, risk mitigation, and cost efficiency. Will work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Development
Lead the pre-construction process for assigned projects, including design coordination, cost estimation, and scheduling.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure the project aligns with the clients vision and requirements.
Evaluate project feasibility, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Budgeting & Estimation
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize the project budget.
with procurement teams to secure pricing and bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Project schedules, monitor and track milestones, ensuring timelines are met to avoid delays.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that design, engineering, and procurement activities are aligned with the project schedule.
Permitting & Compliance
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the pre-construction phase.
Facilitate regular meetings with clients and stakeholders to provide updates, review design progress, and address any concerns.
Present budget and schedule updates to senior management and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field.
Experience in construction management or pre-construction roles.
Proven experience managing the pre-construction phase of large-scale commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, scheduling, cost estimation, and project management principles.
