Chief Estimator - Commercial Concrete

We are a premier provider of turnkey commercial concrete packages supporting projects across diverse sectors including higher education, government and municipal, mixed-use, healthcare, water treatment, aviation, and hospitality . Our expertise spans structural foundations, flatwork, and complex concrete systems for projects ranging from $5M to over $40M.

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Estimator with deep experience in concrete foundations and flatwork. This is a leadership role responsible for managing and driving the company’s estimating efforts, overseeing a team, and contributing to the growth of our project pipeline. The ideal candidate will bring a proven ability to lead the estimating process for turnkey commercial concrete packages and successfully bid complex, mid- to large-scale projects.

• Lead all estimating efforts across commercial concrete scopes including structural foundations, slab-on-grade, elevated decks, and site concrete.

• Prepare and review detailed, accurate cost estimates and quantity takeoffs based on drawings, specs, and project documents.

• Oversee and mentor estimating team members, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.

• Collaborate with project managers, executives, and clients to ensure alignment from preconstruction through project handoff.

• Solicit, evaluate, and scope subcontractor and supplier quotes.

• Lead bid strategy, cost analysis, value engineering, and competitive proposal development.

• Maintain and update cost databases, market intelligence, and unit pricing structures.

• Support the company’s business development efforts by participating in pre-bid meetings and presentations when needed.

• 7+ years of experience in concrete estimating, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity.

• Demonstrated expertise in turnkey commercial concrete including both foundations and flatwork.

• Experience estimating projects in one or more of the following sectors: higher education, healthcare, aviation, municipal, water treatment, hospitality, or mixed-use development.

• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel).

• Strong ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, and geotechnical reports.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently in a hybrid or fully remote environment, with occasional in-office or job site visits as needed.
