Position: HVAC/R Mechanic
Location: Silverdale, Washington
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC/R Mechanic to install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in a variety of facilities, including residential spaces, commercial buildings, laboratories, and galleys. This position plays a critical role in ensuring environmental control systems operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems using knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and system layout
Fabricate and install ductwork, tubing, and piping; solder joints and perform system leak tests
Mount compressors and condenser units; install evaporators and expansion valves
Connect electrical components and test system functionality
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and adjust systems for optimal performance
Replace defective parts including thermostats, breakers, fuses, and wiring
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks
Install, repair, and service air conditioners ranging from ton to 385 tons cooling capacity in large and small buildings
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 4 years of experience in HVAC/R mechanical repair
Evidence of successful completion of at least two vocational education training courses in refrigeration, air conditioning, and controls (e.g., vocational tech school, community college, military training, or reputable correspondence programs)
EPA Certification - Class I & II (Universal preferred)
Solid understanding of HVAC/R troubleshooting, diagnostics, and tools of the trade
Ability to read blueprints and engineering specifications
Valid state-issued driver's license and clean driving record
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to meet background, drug screening, and physical requirements (including ability to lift 50 lbs and respirator qualification)
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Basic computer skills; knowledge of HVAC PRO or similar systems is a plus
