Position Summary:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, or industrial environments. This role ensures systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, service, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation units, and refrigeration systems.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and industry best practices.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure HVAC systems function at peak efficiency.
Inspect systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
Test systems for proper operation using gauges, meters, and tools.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time on site.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
Communicate with clients or building occupants regarding system issues, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
Respond to emergency service calls and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal) required.
Minimum 23 years of experience in HVAC installation and service.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and testing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
Regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
