Maintenance Electrician

Were looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support daily operations by ensuring the safety, functionality, and reliability of our electrical systems and general maintenance infrastructure. Youll work alongside a dedicated team that supports both our lush 23-acre facility and our far-reaching conservation mission.

• Diagnose and repair electrical issues across Zoo grounds.

• Install, maintain, and test wiring, fixtures, equipment, and appliances.

• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

• Use tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure safe, code-compliant installations.

• Inspect systems and address hazards to protect staff, guests, and animals.

• Organize tasks using our work order system and operate Zoo vehicles and equipment.

• Assist with general facility maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair projects.

• Uphold all safety policies, procedures, and code compliance.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Proven electrical background or training ; commercial or hospitality experience a plus.

• Strong troubleshooting, safety, and equipment-handling skills.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather, including hot and humid conditions.

• Availability for weekends, holidays, special events, and emergency calls.

• Must pass background/drug screening.

• Able to lift up to 80 lbs.

• Comfortable working in South Florida weather and around live animals and plants.

• Frequent use of hand tools, radios, and mobile devices for communication and task tracking.

• Varied shift availability required, including holidays and weekends.
