GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanic is responsible for conducting maintenance and repairs on AIS Infrastructure's construction and industrial equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation and optimal performance of the equipment. The Mechanic must possess a strong knowledge of mechanical systems and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on construction and industrial equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failure.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system problems.
  • Replace faulty parts and components, ensuring proper installation and calibration.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification or training in mechanical or automotive technology is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in the construction or industrial sector.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software and computerized systems is a plus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS

  • Work primarily in a maintenance shop or field environment.
  • Potential hazards include working around heavy machinery, exposure to loud noises, and working at heights.
  • Physical demands include standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Flexible work schedule may be required, including weekends and evenings.
  • Travel to job sites may be necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools and software.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail in performing inspections and repairs.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Customer service skills when interacting with internal teams and external vendors.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and deadlines.
  • Handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
