Physical Requirements:Standing or walking with objects up to 50lbs; Repetitive motion. May be exposed to loud noises, fumes, confined spaces, and/or temperature extremes while reviewing a job-site(s).
Shift:Monday Friday, 7:30 am 4:15 pm.
Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors and crisis
management, requiring some night(s), weekend(s), and/or holiday(s)response.
This position will work within the UEM Distribution Team to maintain & operate underground utility infrastructure, including steam and condensate return, chilled water, domestic water, natural gas, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems.
Primary responsibilities include:
- support of 24/7/365 supply of utility services to campus facilities by maintaining integrity of underground or distribution-related utility systems
- safely operating valves to isolate or restore utility service to sections of campus
- troubleshooting flow or supply issues
- executing KY811 underground utility locate marking
- supporting capital construction projects
- facilitating third-party utility vendor work on campus
- performing preventive maintenance activities and repairs on utility piping and systems
Responds to emergency situations and other duties as assigned.
Typical shift is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am 4:15 pm with 45-minute lunch. Employee will be expected to work overtime or in a paid on-call rotation as needed/requested. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
