Job Summary

W e are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician for a full-time, onsite contract assignment supporting operations at a gas production facility. The technician will be responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of plant instrumentation, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment used in air separation and industrial gas production. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and process optimization.

Job Description

  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation systems and electrical systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
  • Install, maintain, and repair manual, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic measuring and regulating instruments.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine calibration of analytical and quality control equipment, including gas chromatographs and process analyzers.
  • Maintain and manage calibration standards, including gas cylinders and test instruments.
  • Support and maintain plant equipment such as compressors, pumps, valves, motors, and turbines.
  • Utilize electrical test equipment to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections per company schedule and standards.
  • Assist in scheduling and executing calibration and preventive maintenance programs during plant shutdowns or outages.
  • Support product scheduling to ensure timely customer deliveries and compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and support spare parts inventory management.
  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols, PPE requirements (FRC clothing, safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection), and procedural standards.
  • Participate in safety training and demonstrate commitment to safe work practices at all times.
  • Comply with site Emergency Action Plan and training requirements.

Skills Required

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant operations or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic instrumentation and electrical theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
  • Demonstrated experience using electrical test tools and calibration equipment.
  • Competency in gas analyzer calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with process plant operations and safety procedures.
  • Able to understand and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken) at the 12th-grade level.
  • Mechanically inclined and physically capable of working in outdoor and elevated environments (up to 110 feet).

Education

  • Highsch ool diploma or GED
  • Associate degree or technical training preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • S hift: M-F 7AM - 4PM
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, and use of hands/tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 110 feet.
  • Capable of wearing full PPE, including hard hat, safety footwear, gloves, eye and ear protection, and respirators as needed.
  • May require occasional travel for training or site support.
  • May be required to provide vacation or emergency shift coverage and be available for on-call support.
