Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to join our automation team, specializing in PLC programming and HMI development. This role involves designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for industrial automation projects, with a strong emphasis on user interface development and system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems for automated machinery and industrial processes.
  • Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron) using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block.
  • Develop and customize HMI/SCADA interfaces (e.g., FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, Wonderware) for operator interaction and system monitoring.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and other field devices.
  • Conduct system testing, debugging, and on-site commissioning of control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and process engineers to ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of control logic, HMI screens, and system configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in PLC programming and HMI development in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs and developing HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, control theory, and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
  • Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, IEC 61131, ISO 13849).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for system installation, commissioning, and support (as needed).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with motion control, robotics, or vision systems.
  • Knowledge of database integration and data logging in HMI/SCADA systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

You will be a participant in the 2024 Vitro Cash Incentive Plan. On an annual basis, your package

will have a target cash incentive of one month of your compensation. Payout will be based on

achieving corporate, business unit and strategic targets mutually agreed upon and approved by

Company, and pro-rated for your time in position. The Plan seeks to compensate senior leaders who

can have a profound, positive effect on the Company's strategic, market and financial

performance, and provides significant upside potential in incentive earnings if performance

exceeds expectations.
