A local sign and traffic control company is seeking flaggers. The right candidate will be hard-working, friendly, diplomatic, and blend well with a wide range of personalities.
Responsibilities and required abilities include (but are not limited to):
Lift signs, stands and cones in and out of a vehicle.
Set up the Traffic Control Devices on job sites.
Hold flag paddle, direct vehicular traffic through construction area turning the sign and using hand signals.
Control public traffic on the street that must be safely stopped for trucks to enter and leave the site.
Take instructions from site manager concerning traffic diversion.
Skills, experience and other requirements:
Valid Flagger Certification and Driver License
Requires standing, repetitive movement, and using hands to handle tools and control equipment or machinery.
Requires effective communications skills via telephone, text message, and face-to-face.
Ability to work independently.
Must be able to communicate in English.
Ability to work cooperatively in a fast paced environment.
Motivated and self-directed.
Wear required personal protective equipment.
Ability to climb into company trucks 52 from ground and drive company trucks
Ability to work early mornings or late nights.
Physical Demands:
The majority of the work will be physical labor in the field. The individual will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands based on the seasonality of our industry. Ability to walk, stoop, bend and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and long hours.

Position Details:
Job Title: Flagging Position
Location: Throughout Whatcom County
Schedule: Monday - Friday and possible weekend work is available. Typical shifts are from early morning until early evening, however given the nature of construction, actual hours worked are subject to project operations and scheduling.
Compensation: Pay starts at $18.75 - $24 per hour, depending on experience (DOE), and overtime opportunities may be available.
