Provides local leadership in technical excellence for the design, conceptual development, and construction of building projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include conceptually visualizing projects, preparing drawings, specifications, budgets, and construction documents, and developing and presenting design proposals. Leads architectural project team in generating accurate and concise drawings, renderings, and documentation. Manages responsibilities, deliverables, and client relationships with a level of quality that exceeds industry standards. Your Impact

  • Direct, facilitate, and support multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of project development.
  • Work closely with engineering design teams and project managers in the creation and development of overall design and building systems concepts for new buildings as well as renovation projects.
  • Provide technical project leadership, supervise the preparation of architectural deliverables, and check for accuracy regarding project requirements, constructability, and code compliance.
  • Exercise independent judgement in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard and latest architectural design techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Manage and support staff development, attracting, mentoring, and coaching junior and mid-level staff.
  • Contribute to on-going improvement of our project delivery standards, to ensure a high quality of work is consistently delivered.
  • Strengthen WSP's relationships with existing clients and assist in pursuing new work by leveraging existing relationships in the market and developing new clients.
  • Have a leadership presence in the industry and support business development.
  • Remain current in latest architecture techniques and practices.
  • Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide "trusted advisor" service and future ready solutions for clients.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, or closely related discipline.
  • Registered Architect in the US.
  • 10+ years of architecture and design experience with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale.
  • Previous work with industrial, manufacturing, and/or public sector projects.
  • Strong knowledge of design, industry advancements, construction methodology, and sustainable design practices.
  • Demonstrated capability and interest to work in support of engineering-driven projects as well as architecturally driven projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform thorough technical reviews in support of the office's Quality Control program.
  • Effective technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent leadership, collaboration, and team-building skills.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCARB certificate holder.
  • Degree from an NAAB accredited program.
  • LEED and/or WELL Accredited Professional.
  • State and local government experience.
  • Industrial campus master planning and project programming experience.
  • BIM experience.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $125,000 - $160,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
