Production Technician/Fabricator

Now hiring for a Production Technician/Fabricator in Johnson City, TN!
Shift: M-F 7:00am-4:00pm
Pay: $18/hr+

Duties and Responsibilities:
Cut, bend and shape metal components using a range of fabrication equipment such as
saws, shears, breaks, punches, drill presses and grinders
Weld or join metal components together using various techniques and methods including
MIG, TIG and ARC welding.
Review technical drawings, blueprints and schematics to determine the requirements for
metal fabrication projects
Assemble and construct metal products, ensuring that the final product is accurate,
functional and meets the required specifications
Propane torch operation for heating and cutting purposes
Laser alignment and fan balancing service calls
Forklift operation, both indoor and outdoor
Maintaining accurate metal stock levels
Ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met
Unloading and loading of trucks by forklift and/or overhead bridge crane
Sand blasting and painting of finished fabrication projects
General cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas
General maintenance of equipment used for fabrication purposes
May be called upon to complete task outside of primary duties

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic Welding Skills
Forklift Operations
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem-solving skills
General knowledge of hand tools, both manual and air operated
General knowledge of measurement tools
General basic math knowledge
General communication skills
Willingness to learn and accept training

Team oriented attitude

Working Conditions:
The work environment is in a manufacturing facility where noise level is usually
moderate
Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
Requires the use of hands for simple handling, grasping and fine manipulations
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds
Requires standing for long periods of time
Requires making repetitive motions while operating equipment.
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery
Work a standard work week but may be required to work some overtime
Work area is heated in winter but not air conditioned in the summer
