Hatchery Level A mechanics are responsible for managing and guiding the maintenance preventative schedule, oversee other Level Mechanics to ensure that proper procedures are performed. Conducts daily review of all hatchery equipment to ensure continuous operation at optimum levels. Possess advanced knowledge of hatchery equipment and can handle routine and non routine tasks. Must be able to detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, maintain the required written records including work performed and corrective actions. Skills needed: electrical, welding, torching, rigging, fabrication, pneumatic, plumbing and control wiring. Day Shift (7am-4pm*)
Duties/Activities Required by Job
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on all Hatchery Equipment and Machinery, ensures that all procedures are properly followed while conducting a repair
- Inspect Hatchery equipment daily, detect potential mechanical and electrical problems and implement solutions.
- Respond to breakdowns, assess and coordinate proper resources to address problem
- Maintain required written records/reports for work performed, corrective actions and parts management.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions. Lock out Tag out procedures and Process Safety Management related matters
Educations/Experience Requirements
- High school. Technical training in mechanics, experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
- 5-7 yrs. experience with Maintenance in a manufacturing setting
- Experience in 3 phase electric, plumbing, HVAC and controls. Able to handle a variety of routine and advanced mechanical tasks.
