POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include the installation, repair, and maintenance of all campus electrical systems as well as support of our printing division in maintaining low volt and electronic systems as well.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to perform basic electrical repairs and installations
  • Provide assistance and direction to electrical helpers and staff
  • Ability to coordinate work with other departments in order to complete assignments in an organized and safe manner
  • Must be able to respond to after-hours emergency calls and special events
  • Must be flexible to perform other duties as required
  • Must adhere to all applicable SC state, federal, and local electrical codes and safety regulations relating to electrical installations
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 1 year minimum of field experience as an electrician working in commercial or residential environments
  • Experience with low voltage/control (fire alarm, security, HVAC) systems is preferred, but not required
  • Must be capable of wearing a full body harness for working at heights and in confined spaces; and under certain situations may be required to wear a respirator
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
