This is an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Connected Residential New Product Development Team in Peachtree City, GA, w ith Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting.

  • R esponsible for the overall mechanical design of lighting products and meeting project schedule and budget.

  • Collaborate with internal resources and remote engineering to create the project timeline, define deliverables and guide the team to completion.

  • Coordinate with marketing to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable and consistent with the voice of the customer.

  • Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review and coordination with internal and third-party compliance.

  • Ensure project tooling budget and product cost requirements are met.

  • Coordinate with sourcing team to ensure vendors are identified, quotations are obtained, and quality standards/form deliverables are met.


More about you

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of product design work experience (with lighting fixtures a plus)

  • 5+ years of work experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software

  • Proficient in thermal and structural simulation with an u nderstanding of electrical and optical engineering principles

  • Good understanding of injection molded plastic, die cast, forging, sheet metal design, manufacturing methods and processes

  • Able to create, articulate and promote e ngineering best-practices

  • Familiarity with design, manufacturing and regulatory (UL, ES, etc.) aspects of LED lighting systems for general lighting is a plus

Salary: $100,600 - 147,510

Bonus: target bonus opportunity - 10%
