Senior Mechanical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of process equipment and systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in a GMP environment. You will also interface with OEMs and vendors, requisition equipment, and complete work orders using CMMS systems. This position requires a commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair process equipment, including pumps, gear reducers, fans, centrifuges, boilers, compressors, and vacuum systems.
  • Interface with OEMs and vendors to requisition equipment as needed.
  • Complete all work performed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs), ensuring proper documentation.
  • Perform repairs and modifications as directed by Maintenance Supervisors and Plant Management.
  • Support and participate in training programs.
  • Keep Maintenance Supervisors informed of job status.
  • Support site safety programs and lead failure analysis processes.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the shop and at job sites.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including full face respirator, hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, goggles, boots, steel-toe shoes, gloves, chemical resistant aprons, and suits.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation and compliance.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS systems.
  • Technical communication skills.
  • Experience with pumps, gear reducers, centrifuges, compressors, and boilers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Technical degree in a mechanical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of mechanical experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
  • Welding skills and knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Ability to perform basic math and read measuring tape, calipers, and blueprints.
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as MP2.

Work Environment

This position is in a GMP environment that requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the use of PPE. The role involves working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, engineers, and technicians to ensure equipment reliability. The job includes exposure to various mechanical systems, and requires precision and attention to detail in documentation and repair tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
