JOBS RANGE FROM: PICAYUNE TO VANCLEAVE AREA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder/Fabricator to perform repairs and fabrication on metal dumpsters and related waste containers. This role involves structural repairs, reinforcement, custom fabrication, and general maintenance to ensure dumpsters are safe, functional, and meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG/STICK welding, cutting, grinding, and metalworking in a heavy-duty environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect dumpsters for damage or wear and assess repair needs
Perform MIG welding to repair or reinforce steel containers
Fabricate replacement parts such as lids, doors, hinges, or frames
Cut, grind, and prep metal surfaces for welding and finishing
Use torches, plasma cutters, and hand tools safely and efficiently
Paint or coat repaired areas when necessary
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
Document repairs and communicate any material or equipment needs
Occasionally assist with loading/unloading containers for repair or delivery
Qualifications:
2+ years of welding/fabrication experience (preferably in heavy equipment or waste industry)
Proficient in MIG welding (stick welding a plus)
Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or instructions
Experience with grinders, cutting torches, and fabrication tools
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor/industrial environments
Strong attention to detail and safety-focused
Valid drivers license preferred
Preferred:
Forklift or heavy equipment experience
Basic mechanical knowledge
Welding certifications (AWS or similar)
