What youll do
- Lead a team of architects and planners in the development of scalable site-specific solutions aligned to enterprise strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (construction, design, real estate, visual merchandising, operations) to bring initiatives to life through thoughtful physical design.
- Set long-term vision and roadmap for architectural evolution, drawing from trends, innovations, and internal business needs.
Architecture & Design Standards
- Define and evolve building standards, material specifications, and criteria for all store types and formats, ensuring they meet operational, experiential, and sustainability goals.
- Govern the chainwide deployment of design concepts and specifications to maintain consistency and quality across the fleet.
Store Planning & Construction Documentation
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of store-specific plans and maps.
- Direct the development of site-specific construction documents to support build-outs, remodels, and non-retail projects.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation for permit submission and entitlement services, in compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
Project Execution
- Partner with construction and project delivery teams to ensure planning outputs are executable and aligned with timelines and budgets.
- Troubleshoot architectural or permitting challenges that may delay or disrupt project deployment.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning tools, document workflows, and CAD/BIM standards.
Basic Qualifications
- 10 or more years of experience in retail architecture, store planning, or demonstrated strong leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
- 5 or more years of experience with responsibility for financial results including budget responsibility (In this role, the budget exceeds $10 million)
- 4 or more years of experience with direct people leadership and team management
- 1 or more years of experience managing leaders/managers
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or related field
- Architectural licensure preferred.
- Deep understanding of zoning, permitting, and entitlement requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advanced level proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other industry-standard tools
- 2 or more years of recent experience/expertise with document management systems
