Duties

The incumbent performs a variety of tasks involved in the operion and routine maintenance and repairs in the main building and other buildings loced on the Kansas City main campus and several CBOCs associed with the Kansas City VA. Typical work assignments involve performance of repair work and operion as electrician, air conditioning mechanic, heing equipment mechanic, plumber and solar heing system mechanic.

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Removes and replaces electrical fixtures, controls, outlets and controls. Tests outlets, wiring, breakers to determine faulty equipment.

Mounts, connects and adjusts transformers, motors, electrode, relays, solenoids, switches, thermosts, rheosts, aquasts, stack switches and ducts.

Repair and replace wer regulors, boosters, generors, oil and air supplies and controls, alarms, safety devices, etc.

Charts and meters indice such things as wer level in the boilers, wer pressure and temperure of the wer and boiler, operor must determine whether to use pressure reducing valves or whether wer pumps should be started or stopped and how long they should be used.

Performs maintenance, repair, adjustment, and modificion of refrigerion, air conditioning, and control equipment and systems which includes, but not limited to, air handler units, exhaust fans, cooling towers, condense return system, steam for he and humidity associed with the conditioning of air, pumps, fan coil units, induction units, air compressors, air dryers, he recovery, etc.

Installs, modifies and repairs new and existing utility, supply and disposal systems such as sewage and wer and equipment such as wer closets, tubs, lavories, showers, drinking fountains and ice makers.

Operes and queries Building Automion System Computer and makes adjustments to heing and cooling system as required.
