Job Summary:

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for maintaining existing electrical system infrastructure to ensure a safe electrical environment is provided for all employees, contractors, etc. The Journeyman Electrician also maintains facilities and production equipment to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies, and plant reliability strategies.

Essential Job Duties:

* Troubleshoots and repairs any electrical problems occurring on the production floor.

* Design and install electrical service to equipment and facility, following all local and state code requirements.

* Conducts annual audits of electrical installations to ensure deficiencies such as exposed wiring, loss of ground fault, damaged cords, and other common failures are identified and repaired.

* Interprets schematics for designing and layout of installations.

* Maintains electrical panels and service electrical components to improve product flow or increase equipment efficiency. Also conducts assessments of main electrical supply components to minimize the risk of failures which can result in loss of service down time, potential fires, and potential risk of injury.

* Documentation of all training, PPE maintenance, written permit management, and other key components will be maintained by this position.

* Understands and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies. These may include but are not limited to National Electrical Code, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Uniform Building Code (UBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, National Electric Code, NFPA 70B Electrical Maintenance, NFPA 70E Arc Flash Electrical Safety, NFPA 79 Electrical Standard For Industrial Machinery and local government environmental agency policies.

* Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits.
