Job Summary
The Port of Beemac is in the Leetsdale Industrial Park and operates on a 24/7 basis. This job is responsible for safely loading and offloading material to and from barges, trucks, and railcars. Forklift and crane experience is a plus, but not a requirement. We have two shifts starting at 7am or 7pm, typically 10 - 12 hours. The facility is an unheated/non-air-conditioned port, and you will be working outside regularly. Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, non-DOT physical, and lift test. We are looking for hardworking, quick-thinking, self-motivated people. The starting rate is $18 to $20 per hour, depending on experience.
- Incentive bonuses: $500 paid after 90 days and $1,000 paid after 180 days for qualifying employees
- Shift Differential for night and weekend hours
- Referral bonus of $250 (referring employee must be listed on the application)
- Safety boot allowance of $150 for steel-toe work boots and steel-toe muck boots

Reliable transportation is required due to potential shift changes on short notice.
Job Requirements
- Responsible always for the safety of barge, truck or rail cars, and all crew members.
- Performs safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes, and apply procedures using good judgment.
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules.
- Uses proper and safe loading and unloading procedures.
- Reading work orders and loading trucks, railcars, and barges with specified product.
- Load and offload material to and from a barge, truck, rail car and yard.
- Daily clean-up of the work area.
- Follows the companys and the clients safety rules.
- Maintain and use appropriate PPE- hard hat, vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots.
- Take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to pass training and required testing.
- Must have a flexible schedule, including availability work weekends.
- Must be willing to work shift and/or overtime hours during the week/weekends as dictated by operations.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. frequently.
- Willing to work in areas with full exposure to the elements year-round.
- Must have recent work history and proven track record working cross-functionally.
- Ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs.
- Must be able to work independently based on periodic guidance and direction.
- Must be able to perform tasks in a timely and safe manner.
