Saw Operator

Position Summary:

The Fabrication Saw Operator position at Arrowhead Conveyor is knowledgeable in the operation and setup of Cold Saws and Power Horizontal bandsaws. Must be able to perform own setups and select proper speeds/feeds based on application. Candidate must be able to read/interpret blueprints along with knowing how to accurately measure by using tape measures, squares and protractors.

Major Responsibilities:

• Ability to setup and safely operate Cold Saws and Power Horizontal bandsaws.
• Transformation of blueprint information to the workpiece.
• Selection of proper speeds and feeds, tooling and operational sequences best suited to materials and nature of operation.
• Proper and accurate completion of labor reports, material issues, Kit lists, scrap reports and material moves.
• Ability to understand production schedules and ability to track releases.
• Routine maintenance of saw/sand equipment. Includes the ability to change blades, maintain coolant levels, remove saw chips and debris, and keeping work area clean/organized.
• Competent use of hand, bench, and light machine operations to perform deburring, filing, grinding and polishing on sawed parts.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

• GED or HS Diploma
• One or more years related experience running power saws in a production environment.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure.
