Power Delivery - Project Manager
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a Project Manager for our Power Delivery Project Management team in our Pacific Region / Vancouver, WA office.
Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with project teams and other Project Managers to optimize the execution of power delivery projects through tracking schedules, deliverables, project financials and overall project organization and work flows. This candidate will support Sr. PMs in business development and marketing of POWER's power delivery services to existing and new clients across the Power Delivery market. Other responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Promote company culture while managing internal and external relationships
Collaborate with project design teams by providing leadership to the project team
Develop & maintain schedules, lead/support/participate in project meetings with project teams, oversee budgets, participate in proposal preparation, support role in client relationships
Work primarily with Power Delivery, but may also interface with other POWER divisions based on the nature of any particular project
This position will have travel, both locally to regional clients and for site visits generally within the US, however there will be an emphasis on the use of modern connectivity to minimize travel
Manage status reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable and unbilled for each project
Demonstrated project management skills should include CPM scheduling, budget and cost analysis, managing project teams, proposal writing, client marketing, and project presentations
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor degree from an accredited university in engineering, math, business, or other relevant discipline
PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Ten (10) + years' applicable industry experience
Seven (7) + years' relevant project management experience
Experience with sub-consultant procurement/management, data analysis and reporting on project financials, driving projects to successful completion
Relevant experience includes small- to medium-scale project management
Knowledge of utility business model, accounting practices, general technical background in power delivery systems
Proficiency with accounting and financial analysis tools in a utility setting
Experience in project management controls area
Desired Education/Experience
Four (4) + years of progressive project management experience preferred
Experience with proposal development, cost estimating, contract negotiation, developing project financials, subcontractor management
Experience with identifying resource needs
Basic knowledge/experience with protection, automation, renewables, distribution, transmission and/or substation projects
Experience in management and working collaboratively with engineering teams preferred
Experience in doing business development with utility and non-utility clients
Familiarity with western regional utilities with membership in the WECC
