Aircraft Avionics/Electrical Technician - Pending Contract Award

SUMMARY:

The Avionics Light Helicopter Technician installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, and maintains aircraft avionics and electrical system components in accordance with testing, engineering, maintenance, and installation directives on MD530F variant aircraft.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform operational checkouts of avionics and instrument systems
  • Removes or relocates electrical and electronic components and wiring to facilitate the installation of new electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Research, provide bill of material, fabricate/modify, and install wire harness assemblies to support the aging aircraft inspection and refurbishment program.
  • The incumbent performs and/or assists with some duties associated with other trades.
  • Complete all checklists, forms, and reports as required in accordance with the company, government, and FAA regulations and guidelines
  • Maintain adequate knowledge to understand and follow the repair facility's Inspection Procedures Manual.
  • Up to 90% travel may be required. Travel may include domestic and/or international locations such as Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Jordan.
  • The individual may be required to travel within the above-listed countries or other international sites and perform work-related duties in extreme environments and austere living conditions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and apply trade or administrative guides such as technical manuals, technical orders, standard repairs, blueprints, wiring, diagrams, sketches, and other related documentation.
  • Expertise with Garmin, Harris, Howell, L-3, Moog, and Wescam avionics components
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • The ability to get along with others and work in a team environment.
  • Access to Export Control Information.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be a US Citizen or a US Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Be available for assignment to OCONUS sites for extended deployment periods.
  • Must possess a passport book (not a passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least four blank visa/stamp pages remaining

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; and appropriate EASA/ICAO or FAA License/ Certification.
  • Eight (8) years' experience on MD 530F variant aircraft electronics installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Verifiable certificates/education should be noted on the resume.
