Summary of Position:

As the Director of Structural Engineering, supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating and overseeing all activities, projects and personal within the structural engineering discipline. This role also focuses on business development strategies, sales forecasting, and the financial and operational management for Core States Group's Structural Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the growth of the practice via business development efforts, including attending marketing functions, industry events, and cross-marketing initiatives with other offices.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with leaders, clients, contractors, and suppliers in the industry.
  • Cultivate long-term client partnerships by ensuring consistent communication, responsiveness, and exceptional service.
  • Direct all aspects of structural engineering consulting services, serving as the primary point of contact for key clients and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely, and compliant solutions
  • Analyze data to support decision-making and implement the best practices aligned with key performance indicators and company goals.
  • Manage and be accountable for the overall financial performance of the entire Structural Engineering team.
  • Lead initial program investigations to assess feasibility and requirements.
  • Oversee design and execution with full adherence to state and local codes and permitting requirements.
  • Ensure quality of delivered products and services meet and exceed industry standards through implementation of a thorough QA/QC process.
  • Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Guide the execution of multiple concurrent programs and clients, maintaining visibility into project progress, potential obstacles, and Company and client expectations.
  • Partner with Directors and technical teams across Core States Group on multi-disciplinary projects to ensure integration and efficiency.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by mentoring staff, developing high-performing teams and supporting ongoing professional growth.
  • Communicate personnel needs to the Senior Director of Engineering and Human Resources, and participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of candidates.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil (with structural concentration) or Structural Engineering is required
  • Licenses: P.E. required, S.E. preferred
  • 15+ years of structural engineering project and/or program management, preferably with commercial programs such as retail or restaurants
  • 8+ years of supervisory experience
  • Competency in extreme climates and environmental conditions including high winds and seismic
  • MS Office required
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit a plus

Team:

You will work with a team of Designers, Architects and Engineers. You will report to our Sr. Director of Engineering.

Work Location:

This is a hybrid position that can be located out of the following offices; Bentonville, AR; Farmers Branch, TX; Kent, WA; Ontario, CA; Philadelphia; PA; Somerville, NJ; Tampa, FL; or West Chester, PA.
