We are looking for a Junior Project Engineer who will provide technical and administrative support to the Doehler internal Engineering team across a variety of capital and improvement projects in our production facility

This role is ideal for a mechanically, automation/electrical inclined engineer eager to gain experience in manufacturing environments, equipment design, and process optimization.

This is a full time, onsite position based in our Cartersville, GA office. Hours or work and days can vary depending on production schedule.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of engineering projects within the production facility, including equipment upgrades, utility expansions, and facility modifications.
  • Create and revise CAD drawings and equipment layouts (e.g., piping, mechanical systems) using AutoCAD.
  • Support the preparation of RFQs (Request for Quotation).
  • Compare and analyze vendor quotations, with input on technical suitability and cost implications.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (production, maintenance, quality, EHS) to gather technical inputs for design and installation.
  • Participate in equipment FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), SATs (Site Acceptance Tests), and commissioning.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for project deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, Layouts, equipment lists, and installation plans.
  • Support the team with data gathering, cost tracking, and documentation archiving related to ongoing and completed projects.
  • Maintain compliance with Doehler's safety and quality standards during all project phases.
  • Support internal improvement initiatives, including but not limited to the implementation of new system, software tools, lean management practices, and loss reduction programs.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree with Internship or project experience in food & beverage or process manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation
  • Proficient with Microsoft business products.
  • Experience using CAD software
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, piping, utilities, and general industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work within a team and encourage a team environment.
