Introduction to BlueOval SK

At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.

Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Fords 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK Ons 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the worlds best battery manufacturer.

The Manage the Business Technical Senior Supervisor at BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from ground up .

This role will be responsible for using Six-Sigma approach to improving all areas of the business within the facility including, but not limited to:

Confirm standards are in place

  • Monitor and confirm that manufacturing operating system standards are being applied and adhered to throughout the area
  • Facilitate Results Process through utilization of standard processes and tools
  • Develop, coach, and support to achieve SQDCPME objectives

Support issues raised by the teams

  • Coach, teach, and feedback on resolution of abnormalities, and validate closure of concerns (facilitates permanent corrective actions)
  • Drive continuous improvement on systemic abnormalities to prevent reoccurrence
  • Provide necessary resources to maintain production flow and confirm critical inputs are being performed to the acceptable standard(s)
  • Plan maintenance tasks, monitor completion and effectiveness, and drive improvement and/or coaching opportunities

Plan changes to the system

  • Adhere to and modify Time & Data Management to promote, support, and coach a continuous improvement mindset and activities in the team
  • Plan FTPM activities to improve area performance
Manage changes to the system Drive the creation and coordination of work plans (downtime, shutdown, manage the change), and ensure the team is executing. Evaluate the effectiveness of work plans. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma Experience : Production experience Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management Strong ability to present in front of plant management Ability to teach Production System principles Union negotiations experience Competent in the use of data for decision making Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to work effectively as part of a team Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems
  • Need to work well under pressure and to be able to work under crisis management when necessary
  • Having the ability to work and multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors Degree Engineering discipline or strong manufacturing experience preferred
  • Lead Process Coach experience
  • 6-sigma designation preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision making capability preferred
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook
