Truss Designer - Residential & Commercial Projects

We’re seeking a Truss Designer with a keen eye for detail and a strong background in residential and commercial construction projects. This is a full-time, on-site position with a well-established company that values craftsmanship, collaboration, and quality. As a Truss Designer , you’ll be responsible for creating precise Truss Placement Plans and Design Drawings, while working closely with architects, engineers, and project teams to ensure seamless execution.

Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate and complete Truss Design Drawings and Truss Placement Plans using MiTek, CAD, and other design software

• Design roof and floor trusses that meet building codes, safety requirements, and project specifications

• Interpret architectural and structural drawings, identify potential issues, and provide solutions

• Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams throughout the design process

• Assist with field issue coordination, repair designs, and support to superintendents and construction managers

• Stay informed on building materials, code updates, and industry trends to ensure high-quality truss design

Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Truss Designer in the construction or building materials industry

• Proficiency with MiTek software is required

• Strong understanding of construction practices and engineered wood products

• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

• High School Diploma or GED required (technical training a plus)
