What you'll be doing

As a Senior Project Manager, IT, you will join the Strategic Initiatives Delivery team within CIBCs Architecture, Data, Analytics & AI function. In this pivotal role, you will lead the delivery of complex, strategic, and regulatory multi-year projects and programs that advance the banks Data, Architecture, and AI strategies. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day project activities, ensuring adherence to project control procedures and technologys project performance standards. Leveraging your deep expertise, you will manage project management best practices, including reporting, planning, and support activities, with significant latitude in determining objectives. You will establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, senior management, and project teams, providing regular status updates and progress reports to manage stakeholder expectations regarding scope and timelines.

How you'll succeed

  • Project Management Define project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Develop resource plans that ensure stakeholder engagement. Continuously assess and improve project practices and procedures.

  • Strategic Leadership Lead complex, multi-year, and regulatory projects that drive the banks Data, Architecture, and AI strategies.

  • Collaboration- Guide internal partners in making informed decisions on programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor teams, negotiate deliverables and milestones, and foster a collaborative environment.

  • Financial Management- Apply advanced financial management skills to ensure projects are delivered within budget and financial objectives are met.

  • Communication and Persuasion Effectively share ideas, build consensus, and communicate with impact.

  • Relationship Building - Develop trusted relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate at least 10 years of experience in project management, ideally within the financial services or technology industry. You have managed cross-portfolio projects in a matrix environment. You have experience with project management and issue management tools like Planview, ServiceNow, and JIRA. Solid financial management skills are essential for success in this role. You have e xperience with infrastructure and cloud migration projects is a strong asset. Methodology Knowledge: Proficient in both waterfall and agile methodologies, with a solid understanding of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • You have s trategic & regulatory expertise. P roven ability to lead complex, strategic, and regulatory projects, particularly those focused on Data, Architecture, and AI.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field of study. Its an asset if you have your PMP designation.

  • You embrace and champion change. You'll continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.
