Packaging Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled packaging mechanic for our facility, with opportunities available for both 1st and 2nd shifts. This position involves mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair of light to medium duty processing and building equipment. The ideal candidate will have a background in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically with experience in tablet coaters, compression machines, blenders, and granulation machines. Additional experience in beads manufacturing and packaging equipment is highly valued.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment including conveyors, elevators, blowers, sifters, grinders, and tablet compression and encapsulation equipment.
+ Work independently or with minimal supervision, applying mechanical and electrical knowledge.
+ Oversee new machine installations and participate in training teams with vendors for trial runs.
+ Conduct inspections and general maintenance of steam boilers.
+ Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment such as compression machines, blenders, and encapsulation machines.
+ Adhere to FDA and OSHA workplace regulations.
+ Handle high voltage systems (480/3 phase) and manage utilities including air lines.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with encapsulation or compression machines, fluid bed dryers, room-sized V-blenders, and smaller mixers.
+ Proficiency with dust collectors and air handling systems.
+ Competence in mechanical and electrical work for both manufacturing and packaging equipment.
+ Knowledge of clean room environments and coating machines.
+ Familiarity with solid dose packaging such as cold form blistering, bottling, and cartoning.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and mechanical systems expertise.
+ PLC knowledge is a plus.
+ General proficiency in PC and work order systems.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks efficiently.
+ Strong quality and compliance vigilance.
