Start your K&A Career: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lake Access Project Manager to join our team at K&A Engineering in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations: Manage recreation infrastructure projects from planning through construction, including boat ramps, docks, fishing piers, beaches, kiosks, signage, and vault toilet facilities. Ensure compliance with ADA accessibility standards and Duke Energy's Access Area Design Standards. Prepare technical documentation, site designs, and plans using Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. Provide structural engineering support for systems involving steel, concrete, and timber materials. Coordinate with internal teams on reservoir water level management, monitoring protocols, and usable storage data. Support the implementation of FERC-authorized hydroelectric license recreation requirements. Navigate complex permitting processes with agencies such as NCDEQ, SCDES, USACE, NCDOT, SCDOT, and local planning authorities. Align all project activities with environmental, health, and safety standards, including permitting moratoriums and ecological restrictions. Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts using Power Plan. Handle procurement tasks including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor coordination through Maximo, Ariba, and Wood Mackenzie bid platforms. Work with approved third-party service providers such as Avetta. Lead project workflows including PSRs, PPAs, Readiness Reviews, and phased/full funding authorizations. Collaborate with the Hydro Licensing Team and support stakeholder engagement and interagency coordination. Operate effectively in a hybrid remote work structure with availability for in-person collaboration at designated Duke Energy offices. What we're looking for: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) 15+ years of Civil Engineering experience, with a focus on recreation site development or related infrastructure Proficiency in technical communication tailored to stakeholders and regulatory audiences Ability to report to the Charlotte office on a hybrid work schedule Why Join K&A?
