Job Description

InteRebar Fabricators is seeking a Bend Table Operator in its New Castle, DE fabrication shop. This individual is responsible for precisely bending and shaping rebar to specified dimensions and configurations using manual or automatic bending machines. This role directly supports the fabrication of reinforcing assemblies used in concrete construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

Set up, operate, and monitor rebar bending machines in accordance with fabrication schedules and project blueprints.

Select proper jigs, dies, or programmable settings for required bar shapes and radii.

Adjust machinery as needed for various bar sizes and bend specifications.

Material Handling

Receive and verify rebar cut from shear lines for correctness and quality.

Load rebar into the bending machine, either manually or using material-handling equipment.

Safely transfer bent material to staging areas for further fabrication or shipment.

Quality Control

Read and interpret bar lists, bending schedules, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy of shapes and angles.

Inspect finished products using measuring tapes, angle gauges, and templates to verify they meet project tolerances.

Report and document any material defects or deviations from specifications.

Safety & Housekeeping

Follow all safety protocols, utilize personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure machine guards are in place.

Keep work area, machinery, and equipment clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient workspace.

Immediately report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Teamwork & Communication

Collaborate with shear operators, fabricators, and crane operators to ensure workflow continuity.

Communicate order status, production issues, or supply shortages promptly to supervisors or lead hands.
